Circular Keys Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit independent organisation that was formed in the United States in 1945. There are now over 600 Sweet Adeline choruses all over the world, including 27 in Australia. We sing four part harmony in barbershop style.
Circular Keys Chorus held its inaugural rehearsal in January 1995, and now comprises over 70 women of all ages and from various backgrounds who sing four part harmony unaccompanied. The Sweet Adelines barbershop style has evolved into a highly stylised art-form reflecting a calibre of showmanship that is regarded as highly professional and very entertaining.
The Chorus has a repertoire that includes Popular, Jazz, Blues, Australiana, Christmas favourites and Show Songs. Circular Keys has won awards at several Eisteddfods including the City of Sydney Performing Arts Challenge as well as at the Sweet Adelines Australian Regional Convention.
